Joe Glover, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

As part of a broader, university-wide awakening to environmental and sustainability concerns, the University of Florida Fellows in Sustainability Prairie Project focuses on curricular change to support faculty intellectual development to address these urgent societal issues. The Prairie Project will draw together approximately 30 UF faculty members from diverse fields across the university to learn about environmental issues and sustainability.

A $1000 grant will be offered to each individual who is selected as a Fellow for this project. This grant is to be used for the development of curriculum materials, new courses, and/or college-level trainings using the principles learned at a workshop Fellows will attend August 5-6, 2010.

Deans should submit their nominations for Fellows to Dr. Whitney Sanford (wsanford@ufl.edu) by March 5, 2010 using the nomination materials and guidelines provided on the Sustainability Committee Web site: http://www.sustainability.ufl.edu/about/committee.html

Questions regarding the project may be directed to Dr. Jeff Burkhardt (burk@ufl.edu).
