Paula Varnes Fussell, Vice President for Human Resource Services

As in past years, the University of Florida has designated the Friday of homecoming week as a holiday. This year the date is October 15 and the campus will be closed the entire day. No classes will be held except for those in the Levin College of Law through 1 p.m. The decision to designate this day as a holiday was based upon the support of faculty and staff throughout campus.

Please note that the following clinics within the Health Science Center (HSC) will remain open to serve patients: all Shands, College of Medicine clinics and clinical activities in Gainesville and Jacksonville, the College of Nursing’s Archer Family Health Care clinic, and the College of Veterinary Medicine. HSC faculty, staff, and students with clinic responsibilities must check with their respective colleges to determine their schedules.

IFAS Research and Education Centers will be closed for the holiday. County Extension Offices will continue to observe their county holiday schedules.

Essential personnel who are required to work to support campus or off-campus operations will be contacted directly by their supervisors.

Thank you for your ongoing contributions and Go Gators!
