Updates and revisions to the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for university IT resources were approved on August 17, 2011, and are now in effect.
University Information Technology (IT) resources are to be used for activities related to UF’s mission of research, teaching, clinical, and service/extension activities. Some examples of IT resources include the computers, software, systems, networks, and electronic devices bought, developed and/or maintained in support of the university’s mission.

I am pleased to announce that President Machen has approved a 3 percent across-the-board salary increase for all eligible TEAMS and USPS employees. The implementation of the increases should help offset the recent legislative change that required employees to contribute 3 percent of their salaries toward their retirement. The salary increases will be added to employees’ base salaries and will be effective September 16, 2011.

This is my annual reminder that Pepsi has the exclusive pouring rights contract for UF. This means that only Pepsi products (including bottled water and Gatorade) may be served on campus at events as wide ranging as a faculty meeting, dean’s luncheon, staff retreat or a special event. Personal use is exempted from the contract.
