Paula Varnes Fussell, Vice President for Human Resource Services

As in past years, the University of Florida has designated the Friday of Homecoming week as a holiday. This year, the date is November 4 and the campus will be closed the entire day. No classes will be held except for those in the Levin College of Law through 1 p.m. The decision to designate this day as a holiday was based upon the support of faculty and staff throughout campus and has been approved by the President.

All clinical activities within the College of Medicine and Shands UF will remain open for patient care. This includes all Shands functions, University of Florida Physicians practices, and UF Jacksonville practices and clinical activities. The College of Nursing’s Archer Family Health Care clinic and the College of Veterinary Medicine will also remain open. HSC faculty, staff, and students with clinical responsibilities must check with their respective colleges to determine their schedules. IFAS Research and Education Centers will be closed for the holiday. County Extension Offices will continue to observe their county holiday schedules. Personnel who are designated as essential, and therefore are required to work to support campus or off-campus operations, will be contacted directly by their supervisors.

Thank you for your ongoing contributions and Go Gators!
