Presidential Search Engagement Opportunities
Jane Adams, vice president of University Relations, and Dianna Morgan, chair of the Presidential Search Committee, Marketing and Communications Subcommittee
The University’s Presidential Search Committee would like input from faculty and staff. Although e-mails have been sent to all UF employees, please remind faculty and staff in your areas about the following important opportunities to have input in the Presidential search:
* Participate in an Open Forum on August 24, 2012, from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Emerson Alumni Hall: All Faculty and staff attending this forum will be asked to provide their thoughts on three questions related to the desired qualifications and criteria of the university’s next president. Interested individuals are asked to please complete an online interest form at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/openforum.asp to ensure we can accommodate those who would like to participate. This open forum may be viewed online for those who are unable to attend in person; details about the Webcast will be posted on the Presidential Search website as soon as they are available.
* View two Focus Groups, one for faculty at 9 a.m., and one for students at 11 a.m., on August 24, 2012 at Emerson Alumni Hall: Faculty and students from across UF who are in each focus group will be asked to provide their thoughts on three questions related to the desired qualifications and criteria of the university’s next president. The faculty participants were selected by their colleges and the Faculty Senate and reflect a wide range of faculty interests.
Student participants were selected by student leaders, student groups and Student Affairs and reflect a wide range of student interests. The focus groups are open to all for viewing or may be viewed online. If you are not in a focus group and wish to have live input, please complete an on- line interest form and attend the open forum (see No. 1 above). Details about the Webcast will be posted on the Presidential Search website as soon as they are available.
* Provide direct feedback to three questions: The Presidential Search Committee wants to know how you would answer the following three questions: What are the unique qualities and notable strengths of UF? What are UF’s opportunities and impacts in academics, research and service for the future? Based on these inquiries, what qualities and experience are needed for UF’s next leader? You can send your answers to presidentsearch@ufl.edu.
All comments and input collected through these outlets will be shared with the Presidential Search Committee.
REMEMBER: The Open Forum on August 24th is only the beginning. Your views are an important part of the search process. We encourage your ongoing input and questions throughout the presidential search. At any time, you may provide input or ask questions by sending an e-mail to presidentsearch@ufl.edu.
