Dr. Charles E. Lane, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

I am pleased to announce the selection of Melissa Nunn as the university’s new Title IX Coordinator, effective August 1, 2016. Melissa is pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and earned her master’s in Family, Youth and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and her bachelor’s in Communications and Theatre Arts from Mercer University. She served as Mercer University’s Title IX Coordinator during the past year.

As UF’s Title IX Coordinator, Melissa will take on primary responsibility for monitoring, supervising and overseeing all compliance related to Title IX, which protects individuals from discrimination based on gender. She will lead the university’s efforts to prevent discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and intimate partner violence.

Prior to working as Mercer’s Title IX Coordinator, Melissa’s duties included serving as the school’s Title IX Investigator, where she worked closely with the Title IX Coordinator, assisted in training faculty and staff investigators, served as a neutral party though all aspects of investigations and created comprehensive reports summarizing investigations. She also served on various sexual assault task forces and committees while working in Mercer’s Office of Residence Life.

Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Melissa back to the University of Florida!
