Director of Research Compliance and Global Support

It is my pleasure to announce that Ms. Terra DuBois has accepted the position of Director of Research Compliance and Global Support within the Office of Research. She will join UF on September 25, 2017. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Research.
As Director of Research Compliance and Global Support, Ms. DuBois is charged with supporting and promoting ethical research practices at the University of Florida that fully comply with applicable US and foreign rules and regulations. She will be responsible for coordinating institution-wide compliance policy and procedure development that is effective and context-appropriate, coordinating these efforts among various administrative offices, committees, and local research areas that bear functional responsible for research compliance and global research support at the University of Florida. Her office will serve as a university resource within the Office of Research regarding the compliance efforts related to the full breadth and scope of the university’s research enterprise, including the university’s existing research practices, policies and procedures, the university’s structure and operations, the administrative and academic offices responsible for various aspects of research compliance, and the various research-related committees. Specific roles and responsibilities of this office include responsible conduct of research, oversight of export control, research misconduct and sponsored activities outside the US. Her office will initiate a new resource in support of global activities.
Terra received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. She comes to us from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Office of Research Integrity Assurance. Prior to that, Ms. DuBois was here at UF as Assistant Director of Research Compliance. Additional prior professional experience includes positions at the University of Idaho, St. Thomas University, and the US Environmental Protection Agency.
