W. Kent Fuchs, President

After more than 13 years of exemplary service at the University of Florida, Jane Adams has announced her retirement. She is expected to retire as Vice President for University Relations in late April. As part of the search to fill her role, we have established two leadership positions—a Vice President for Strategic Communications and Marketing as well as a Vice President for Government and Community Relations. Both of these positions report to the President and serve as members of the President’s Cabinet.

Vice President for Strategic Communications and Marketing
A search committee has been formed and is being chaired by Diane McFarlin, Dean of the College of Journalism and Communications, to support the search for the Vice President for Strategic Communications and Marketing position. This position has responsibility for overall communications, public relations, marketing and branding activity for the university.

Vice President for Government and Community Relations
We also have launched the search for the Vice President for Government and Community Relations. A search committee has been formed and is being chaired by David Norton, Vice President for Research. This position works to cultivate and enhance the university’s relationships at all levels of government to advocate for institutional priorities.
Additional information about both of these searches may be found at http://hr.ufl.edu/talent-search/.
