Summer and Fall 2018 Textbook Adoptions

The textbook adoption system for Summer and Fall 2018 is now available to faculty and departments to submit their textbook adoptions and materials requirements. Please visit http://www.textadoption.ufl.edu/ to enter Summer and Fall 2018 adoptions.

The deadline for Summer adoptions is March 30, 2018. The deadline for Fall adoptions is July 8, 2018.

2018 Tax Changes Affect Parking Decals

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed by Congress in December 2017 affects employer-provided qualified transportation fringe benefits, including workplace parking plans. Employee parking costs in 2018 are no longer a deductible expense, meaning they are subject to Social Security (or FICA Alternative for participating employees), Medicare and Federal withholding taxes.

Spring 2018 Commencement Information

Ceremonies: This spring, the university-wide commencement ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.

There will be seven university-wide commencement ceremonies coordinated by the Provost’s Office — a Doctoral Degree Ceremony (Friday, May 4th at 9:00am), two Master’s/Specialist’s Degrees Ceremonies (Friday, May 4th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm), and four Bachelor’s Degrees Ceremonies (Saturday, May 5th at 9:00am and 2:00pm, and Sunday, May 6th at 9:00am and 2:00pm).

This is to announce an internal UF search for the Associate Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs. After serving eleven years in that position, Angel Kwolek-Folland has decided to return to a faculty position in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences in summer 2018.

Distance Learning Fees/Dates and Deadlines

Applications to request Distance Learning Fees for the Summer and Fall 2018 terms are now being accepted through PeopleSoft. All departmental applications should be submitted no later than Friday, February 23, 2018 and Dean’s approval is required by Friday March 2nd.

(Reminder, DL Fees applications are required each semester for all courses as they are not carried over.)
