Appointment of University Architect
Curtis A. Reynolds, Vice President for Business Affairs
I am pleased to announce Cydney McGlothlin as the University Architect. McGlothlin has been a Project Manager at UF since 2003 and has managed some of the most notable projects at UF, including the J. Wayne Reitz Union Renovation & Addition, the Harn Museum’s Asian Art Wing and the Herbert Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence.
As a registered architect in Florida and Colorado, her talent and skill make her a strong advocate for quality design at UF and she will represent the University on the national stage as she joins her peers in the Association of University Architects.
In this role, McGlothlin will guide the architectural aesthetic on UF’s main campus. She will see projects through the approval process and work with the Planning, Design & Construction team to ensure compliance with campus design guidelines and other standards. Additionally, she will ensure projects comply with ongoing planning initiatives, such as the Campus Master Plan; Strategic Development Plan; Landscape Master Plan; Transportation and Parking Strategic Plan; Housing Master Plan; Utility Infrastructure Master Plan; Campus Framework Plan and the Wayfinding Plan. In support of the ‘Strive for Five’ initiative, she will also benchmark UF’s built environment and infrastructure against other top-ranked universities.
Please join me in welcoming Cydney McGlothlin in her new role as the University Architect.
