We are pleased to announce that Destiny Evans has accepted the position of Senior Director of Privacy for University of Florida (UF) and UF Health.

Destiny will start on September 27, 2021.

Destiny is an experienced privacy compliance professional with nearly 20 years of health care privacy and Health Information Management experience. She is currently the Manager, Privacy Compliance for Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) in Dallas, TX.  In her current role, Destiny is responsible for maintaining an effective privacy program for BSWH hospitals, clinics and affiliated organizations including the Baylor Scott & White Research Institute, physician networks and health plans. Managing a team of privacy professionals at BSWH, Destiny oversees daily privacy operations including privacy incident investigations, auditing, monitoring, risk of harm analyses, communication with leadership and departments, and providing breach notification in accordance with all state and federal requirements. 

Prior to this role, Destiny served in various management roles in Health Information Management for hospitals in Dallas and Oklahoma, including as the Director of Health Information Management and Privacy Officer for Stroud Regional Medical Center in Stroud, Oklahoma. Destiny has a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from East Central University and a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Leadership from Amberton University. Destiny is also a Registered Health Information Administrator and is Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance and Healthcare Compliance.
