Dr. Angela Lindner, Interim Vice Provost of Undergraduate Affairs

The Office of the Provost is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jason Mastrogiovanni as Interim Associate Provost for Student Success, effective immediately.

Dr. Mastrogiovanni is the Senior Associate-In and Director of Academic and Student Success in the Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education. He will continue to serve in that position while assuming the new role.

As interim associate provost, Dr. Mastrogiovanni will oversee UF’s campuswide initiatives for improving student success, including academic support and data analysis, the coordination of academic advising, prestigious awards, McNair Scholars, UF Student Support Services, and ROTC.

He is also expected to move forward with the creation of a university wide Student Success Center, among other elements of UF student success plan created in 2019.

“As a first-generation graduate from UF, I understand how challenging students can find our very large and complex campus environment,” he said. “I look forward to working to give all of our students the tools to get an exceptional education, have a great experience, and go on to live successful, fulfilling lives.”

Dr. Mastrogiovanni served previously as UF’s first assistant provost for student success. Prior to that, he worked in student success at Texas A&M University, Stony Brook University and the University of Tennessee. He also serves as the current editor for the Journal of College Orientation, Transition, and Retention and on the editorial board for the Journal of Postsecondary Student Success.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Mastrogiovanni on his appointment.
