UF Announces Lee H. Melvin as Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Admissions

The University of Florida’s Division of Enrollment Management is excited to announce that Lee H. Melvin has been appointed the new Assistant Vice President and Executive Director for Admissions and Enrollment Management, effective May 23.

As a national leader in strategic recruitment, admissions and enrollment, Melvin is passionate about developing strategies to enhance the student experience. β€œLee brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. Strong recruitment, admissions and enrollment practices are key to success, and I am thrilled to have him join UF at such a pivotal time,” said Dr. Mary Parker, Vice President and Chief Enrollment Strategist.

Melvin is excited to focus on admissions at the University of Florida and is eager to leverage his knowledge and experience to support the university’s growth and success. “I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honored to join the University of Florida’s Enrollment Management Division as the new leader of the Office of Admissions,” Melvin said. “This is an incredibly exciting time to become part of the University of Florida β€” a world-class institution that continues to redefine excellence in higher education. Looking ahead, I am energized and fully committed to identifying, inspiring and enrolling a dynamic community of brilliant minds from every corner of Florida and across the globe.”

With over three decades of experience in admissions and enrollment, Melvin brings extensive expertise to this role. He held admissions and enrollment roles at Cornell University, the University of Connecticut, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Georgia. Most recently, he served as the inaugural Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University at Buffalo-SUNY, where his transformative leadership led to a 68% increase in applications and a 24% rise in first-time freshman enrollment.
