Dr. Kellie Roberts named Acting Director of UF Honors Program
Dr. Joe Glover, Interim Provost and Executive Vice President
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Kellie Roberts has been named as the Acting Director of the UF Honors Program, effective January 16.
Dr. Roberts served previously as the longtime director of UF’s William & Grace Dial Center for Speech and Communications Studies, where she remains an Emerita Instructional Professor.
She has taught communication courses across the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Honors Program, and Warrington College of Business. She has also served as faculty advisor for PREVIEW and as UF’s Director of Forensics, leading the nationally competitive Speech & Debate Team. Her research focuses on communication in the disciplines, higher education curriculum, and peer evaluation of college teaching. She earned her Ed.D. and Ed.S. in Higher Education Administration and M.A.T. and B.A. in Speech Communication, all at UF.
Dr. Roberts will serve as Acting Director of the Honors Program until a new director is in place. She succeeds Dr. Melissa Johnson, who served for more than three years as Interim Director of the Honors Program. We thank Dr. Johnson for her deep commitment to UF Honors students.
“Over the years, I’ve enjoyed working with Honors in a variety of roles and projects, and I’m excited to join this incredible team again during a major transition—moving our headquarters to Honors Village and expanding programming and academic offerings,” Dr. Roberts said.
Please join me in congratulating Dr. Roberts and thanking her for her willingness to return to UF to serve in this important capacity.
