First Annual Demo Day to be held in Gainesville, February 5

Arnie Heggestad, Director

The Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida is pleased to announce in partnership with New South Ventures the first Demo Day to be held in Gainesville on February 5, 2001 in the University Conference Center Hotel.

Entrepreneurs are invited to spend an hour with the team of experienced venture capitalists discussing their business concept. Ventures may be in any stage of development from an idea to having a completed business plan and a team in place. One need not be affiliated with the University of Florida to be considered. As many as 16 ventures will be considered on this day.

The partners of New South Ventures will provide business advice and may consider investing in some of the companies. Presentations are limited to 15 minutes reserving a full 45 minutes for discussion with the entrepreneur. A professional business plan with corresponding audio-visual aids is not necessary.

New South Ventures is an extremely experienced team of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs. The firm and their partners are described at NewSouthVentures.com

If you are interested, please send a 2-3-page description of your venture as a Word attachment to the Center to CEI@notes.cba.ufl.edu. More information may be obtained from Arnie Heggestad, Center Director at Arnie@ufl.edu.
