Conflicts of Interest

Angel Kwolek-Folland, Assoc. Provost, Academic Affiairs

A review conducted by the General Counsel’s Office, the Provost’s Office, and Human Resource Services pursuant to changes in federal reporting requirements has resulted in a new “Outside Activities and Financial Interests Form.” The new form is effective for all UF staff and out of unit faculty. The form and an accompanying updated “Guidelines” and instructions are available at http://www.generalcounsel.ufl.edu/downloads/COI.pdf

The revised outside activity Regulation (1.011) and Public Health Service regulations concerning conflict of interest were effective August 24, 2012.

Please update any links on college or unit websites, and ensure that all staff and out of unit faculty use the new form for any required reporting.

In addition, new guidelines and a template for agreements to address conflicts of interest arising from the employment of relatives (“Nepotism Guidelines”) are now available on the Human Resource Services website at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/forms/default.asp#n

If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Wingo, Associate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel (wingo@ufl.edu), or me (akf@aa.ufl.edu) .
