Jack Heidler, Director, University Personnel Services

University Personnel Services is pleased to announce that the State University System (SUS) rule limiting OPS (temporary) employees to working a maximum of 2,080 hours within a continuous 24-month period has been eliminated.

As a result of this change, you no longer will receive the quarterly edit report, “Employees That May Exceed the Maximum of OPS Hours Allowed.” This report was developed to help you identify non-student OPS employees in your area who had exceeded or who were going to exceed the 2,080 hours. This rule did not apply to other established OPS categories such as student or graduate assistants, fellowship recipients, part-time academic employees and consultants.

If you have questions about this change, please contact Joanne Dice, Assistant Director for University Retirement, at (352) 392-4951 or Suncom 622-4941, e-mail: jdice@nervm.nerdc.ufl.edu.
