Spring Tuition Payments for Graduate Assistants and Pre-doctoral Fellowships

Rita Cowan

The Letter of Appointment file will be available for input of spring contracts on December 4, 1996. All Letters of Appointment for spring must be input by 5:00 PM on January 9, 1997. Tuition payments will be processed on Friday, January 10, 1997. Graduate assistants may check spring tuition payment amounts beginning at 8:30 AM on Monday, January 13, 1997 by accessing computers set up outside S-113 Criser Hall. All fees for spring semester are due by 3:30 PM on Friday, January 17, 1997.

Graduate assistants appointed .25 – .49 FTE must be registered for 9 hours to qualify for employment and a tuition payment.

Graduate assistants appointed .50 – .74 FTE must be registered for 8 hours to qualify for employment and a tuition payment.

Graduate assistants appointment .75 – .99 FTE must be registered for 6 hours to qualify for employment and a tuition payment.

Graduate assistants appointed 1.00 FTE must be registered for 3 hours to qualify for employment and a tuition payment.

Tuition payments for pre-doctoral fellows will be issued during the processing of the appointments (GS705 or AP FEL). Pre-doctoral fellows must register for 12 hours and their fellowship must pay at least $3,150 per semester to qualify for a tuition payment. If a graduate student has a full-time pre-doctoral fellowship in addition to financial aid, the fellowship appointment must be received by our office by December 4, 1996 to avoid conflict with the financial aid check. When we process the appointment we will also process the tuition payment. If this is done timely, tuition fees will not be deducted from the financial aid check.

If you have questions about these procedures or need further assistance, please call Kay Shipp or me at 392-1251.
