Appointment of Interim Director of the Office of Graduate Minority Programs

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Dovie Gamble, Assistant Professor of Recreation, Parks and Tourism in the College of Health and Human Performance, as the Interim Director of the Office of Graduate Minority Programs (OGMP) effective October 16, 1998.

Dr. Gamble will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Office, approving all fellowship and assistantship appointments, working with the Graduate School and other administrative units to develop new programs in order to enhance the recruitment, retention and graduation of minority students, coordinating the recruiting efforts of the OGMP, chairing the Graduate Minority Advisory Council, and overseeing the Ronald E. McNair program.

Please join me in welcoming Dr. Gamble to this very important position in our office. We are excited about her joining our team and look forward to a productive year ahead.
