Appointment of Inez S. Wolins as Director of Harn Museum of Art

Provost Elizabeth D. Capaldi today announced the appointment of Inez S. Wolins as Director of the Harn Museum of Art effective March 1, 1999. Dr. Wolins joins UF from the Wichita Art Museum, where she was director since 1992. She brings 20 years of museum and teaching experience to UF, including serving as Curator of Education for both the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and the Tampa Museum of Art.
Among Dr. Wolins’ professional affiliations are consultancies with the National Endowment of the Arts in Washington, D.C. and the Division of Cultural Affairs for the State of Florida. She has also worked with museums in New York, Iowa, Georgia and Delaware. She has published articles in museum and art journals.
Dr. Wolins holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, a Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies from Syracuse University and a doctorate in Educational Communication and Technology from New York University. Dr. Wolins is exceptionally well qualified to work with the Museum’s many friends and patrons as well as the faculty, staff and students of the University of Florida to carry on the exemplary traditions established by the Harn since its founding in 1989.
