Maintenance Insurance

The University has awarded a new contract for maintenance insurance to Specialty Underwriters to begin July 1, 1999. The equipment currently on the program will be automatically converted to the new program unless you notify Specialty to the contrary.

In the next few weeks you will receive a list of equipment covered and the costs under the new contract, along with instructions for making changes and where to send any notices. Equipment not cancelled by September 30 will have the charges prorated.

It is our intention that there will be an Internet application form on Purchasing’s Web page that you will use to add equipment to this contract.

Specialty Underwriters is an affiliate of C.N.A. Insurance Companies and is well regarded in the maintenance insurance field. They will have a Customer Service Representative on campus that will work with the claims and are planning some presentations on campus during June to acquaint you with their company.

We anticipate a smooth transition from CIC Corporation to Specialty Underwriters.
