Health Science Center Reunion 99
Jim Morgan, Director
More than 2,000 alumni from the colleges of the UF Health Science Center and their families will return to Gainesville, November 5th and 6th, for a homecoming reunion and barbecue.
For the first time, the Health Science Center Office of Development and Alumni Affairs together with the Vice President for Health Affairs and Deans will combine homecoming and reunion activities among the colleges of Nursing, Medicine, Health Professions, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine and Dentistry. The parking lot north of the Academic Research Building will be transformed Saturday, November 6th, into a giant picnic area for alumni, faculty and friends. In addition to a southern barbecue lunch, participants will have the opportunity to attend the annual UF Homecoming parade, Gator Growl and the homecoming football game. A children’s activity area will be in place as well as exhibits at the site of the future Health Professions, Nursing and Pharmacy building.
Individual alumni associations also will hold class parties, alumni advisory board meetings and continuing education classes throughout the weekend.
Reunion barbecue preparations will begin on Friday, November 5th, at 2 p.m. The Health Science Center north parking lot will be barricaded so that parked cars may exit but no vehicles may enter. Visitor garages on both the east and west sides of the Health Science Center, as well as the Blue garages on Archer Road, will be available after 2 P.M. to accommodate this closure. If you need further information, please call Transportation and Parking Services at 392-8048.
