Enhanced Administrative Security Procedures

Victor M. Yellen, Assistant Provost

Effective August 1, 2000, an employee changing from one authority code to another will have his/her security deleted from administrative systems. In order to provide for exceptions, your security coordinator will receive an email notifying him/her of the pending action and if no request is received from your security coordinator within 5 working days the security will be terminated.

This procedure is being put into place to respond to criticism from both University and State auditors concerning the apparent lack of control by the University in the area of deactivacation of security access to University systems when an employee changes departments or leaves the University. It is our desire that this system will both eliminate work on the part of your staff to deactivate an employee leaving your employ and provide a more secure environment within the University’s secure application. If there are any questions or comments, please contact Mr. Warren Curry at 392-1285 or email Information Systems Security staff at isadminsecurity@admin.ufl.edu.
