Fall Semester Textbook Adoptions
Charles E. Frazier, Vice Provost
Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit course adoption information in a timely manner. This helps assure books are available to students before classes begin in August 2001. The on-line textbook and course material adoption system can be found on the web at: www.textadoption.ufl.edu. The date for completion of Fall Semester 2001 adoptions is April 15, 2001.
Information on material related to required courses is provided to UF students using the ISIS system, through a cooperative effort of the Office of the University Registrar and the Business Services Division. UF students unanimously endorsed the on-line system. Information was unavailable for many courses last semester. Submitting your orders by April 15, 2001, will allow students access to this information when they register for classes. In addition, bookstores are able to offer top prices when buying back books from students at the end of each semester. All local book vendors, including UF Bookstores, can access the on-line system to obtain the necessary information to order textbooks from publishers.
This year, a new University of Florida Textbook Adoption Incentive Program will be initiated. This pilot program will offer incentives valued at $100,000 for the Fall 2001 and Spring 2002 semesters ($50,000 per semester) to those faculty/staff members who submit their textbook adoptions by submission deadlines. Information on this program is attached and you may obtain further details on-line at www.textadoption.ufl.edu.
Please submit your textbook adoptions timely so that we can increase the services to our student body. Thank you.
