The Office of Research and Graduate Programs seeks to attract an individual to the position of Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Programs who has a broad vision of the University’s research and graduate programs. The individual should have a sincere desire to help the University be recognized as a first rate institution in these areas. He/she will be responsible to the Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate and will represent him in his absence.

The following are criteria for the position:

Tenured member of the University of Florida faculty with a doctoral degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of specialization and appropriate experience, or a masters degree in an appropriate area of specialization and extensive appropriate experience

*Evidence of strong involvement in high quality scholarly research

*Evidence of effective management, decision making, problem solving in the administrative functioning of a unit

*Ability to participate in strategic planning, budget, personnel and other internal meetings of staff

*Ability to participate actively with faculty and outside funding sources in pursuit of research initiatives
