UF will observe the National Day of Mourning with a special service at 12:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, at the University Auditorium. Distinguished Service Professor Michael Gannon will deliver remarks and faculty from the School of Music will perform.

Professor Elizabeth Graham, will sing Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America,” accompanied on piano by Dr. Kevin Sharpe. Dr. Brooks Whitehouse will perform Bach’s Suite No. 2 in D Minor for Solo Cello.

In addition, the University Auditorium and the Baughman Center will remain open all day. We urge students, faculty and staff to use either facility for moments of silence, prayer and/or as a gathering place for fellowship with others. Normal class schedules and work hours will be maintained throughout the university. During each 15-minute class break, the Century Tower Carillons will play.
