New Enhancements to TRRIPS
John P. Kruczek, University Controller
I am pleased to announce new enhancements to TRRIPS – the web-based Travel Request and Reimbursement Information Processing System. Effective immediately the following improvements have been made to the system:
“Blanket” Travel Authorization Requests are now available Non-employee Travel Authorization Requests are now permittedPaper TARs are not required except for foreign travel
Blankets: The Travel Authorization Request (TAR) section of TRRIPS has been enhanced to accommodate the use of “Blanket Encumbrances.” You may establish a Blanket Encumbrance during the fiscal year to cover routine travel expenses. A single Blanket Encumbrance may be used for any of the following business travel types:
A single traveler taking multiple trips.
Multiple travelers taking a single trip.
Multiple travelers taking multiple trips.
Of course, you will continue to use TRRIPS for a single traveler taking a single trip as well. The travel dates for Blanket Encumbrances may not exceed one fiscal year (e.g. July 1, 2001 – June 30, 2002). Also, you must close the unused balance of a TRRIPS Blanket Encumbrance using a Change Order on or before the last day of a fiscal year.
Non-employee travel: TRRIPS has also been enhanced to process non-employee travel on official University of Florida business.
Reduced paper TARs: The use of TRRIPS removes the need to request TARs on paper forms except for foreign travel.
If you have any questions, or need help using TRRIPS, please contact Monica Thames-Lamar or Carlos Cordero at 392-1245.
