SSN-to-UFID Conversion

I am writing to update you on the new UFID number that will replace the Social Security number (SSN) as the primary identifier in university records. The conversion of computer application systems will take place over the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, January 18-20, 2003.

We will distribute Undergraduate Catalogs, Graduate Catalogs and Spring Schedule of Courses to interested departments at the following times and locations:

Verification of Registration with Selective Service

In order to ensure compliance with Section 110.1128 of the Florida Statutes, all departments must include in the OPS new-hire paperwork a screen-print from the Selective Service web page found at https://www4.sss.gov/regver/verification1.asp for all male employees who are U.S. citizens between the ages of 18 and 26. New On-Demand Payroll System and Discontinuance of Local Emergency Checks

Effective October 21, 2002 the University will begin using the State’s new On-Demand Payroll System to process emergency payroll checks. The System can perform tax and benefit calculations, produce warrants or electronic fund transfers (EFTs) and update the employee’s pay records just like the bi-weekly payroll. Therefore, we will no longer need to hold back ten percent on emergency checks.
