Bridges Update: Assigning Roles for PeopleSoft Systems

Changes to the State of Florida’s Workers’ Compensation Law

The Florida Legislature revised the state’s Workers’ Compensation Law, Chapter 440, Florida Statutes, during the first special session held in 2003. As a result, the university must adjust its workers’ compensation procedures. Effective January 1, 2004, an injured employee must sign a First Report of Injury or Illness form (DWC-1) and the department must immediately return the signed form to UF’s Workers’ Compensation Office.

Chapter 440.105(7) of the statute states:

FluMist Nasal Spray Vaccine For Influenza Available To UF Students, Faculty And Staff At No Charge

The Student Health Care Center (SHCC) has depleted 10,000 doses of injectable flu vaccine earlier this week. In light of the growing numbers of influenza cases across the country and the shortage of injectable vaccine, the SHCC is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of doses of FluMist Nasal Spray vaccine at NO CHARGE for UF students, faculty and staff.

Jefferson Science Fellows

I am pleased to announce that UF is participating in a new program designed to select scientists, technologists and engineers for one year fellowships with the U.S. Department of State. Called the Jefferson Science Fellows (JSF), the program is open to U.S. citizens holding a tenured faculty position at UF.
