Michael V. McKee, University Controller

The University of Florida began its own Purchasing Card program on April 1, 2004. Our new Purchasing Card provider is Wachovia Bank in partnership with MBNA. The new UF Purchasing Card program will allow the purchase of gasoline. The purchase of gasoline is for use in State vehicles only. This is allowed on any UF purchasing card. However, we have also created a “gas-only” purchasing card for those departments that would like to have greater control over the use of purchasing cards by employees. Because of this increased flexibility and greater control over expenditures in the UF Purchasing Card program the Voyager Fleet Card program will be discontinued. As always, departments are allowed and encouraged to use the University Motor Pool for fueling whenever possible.

In order to allow adequate time for departments to order Purchasing Cards for their employees, the Voyager Cards will remain active through June 30, 2004. All cards will be inactivated on July 1, 2004. For more information on Purchasing Cards check Purchasing and Disbursement Services website at http://www.purchasing.ufl.edu/main_purchasingcards.asp or email pcard@ufl.edu.

Please notify Don Clanton at dclanto@ufl.edu or (352) 392-2441 when you have discontinued use of the card and are returning it; then return all Voyager Cards to University Accounting Controls, attention Don Clanton, P.O. Box 112008 as soon as you discontinue its use. Don will have the card inactivated to prevent any unauthorized use.

If you have any questions please contact Ms. Kathleen Tillett at 392-2441.
