The Career Resource Center continually works to address the changing employment and recruiting trends in order to best assist students’ career goals. Because of your direct contact and advising role with students, we want to inform you of the new format at Career Showcase. New to the Spring 2005 Career Showcase are industry-focused days:

* Day 1 (February 1, 2005) of the event will feature employers seeking internship, co-op, and full-time candidates in technical fields. Computer science, construction, engineering, information systems/technology, scientific research, and other fields with a technical or scientific focus will be included in the technical fields.

* Day 2 (February 2, 2005) of the event will feature employers seeking internship, co-op, and full-time candidates in non- technical fields. Accounting, banking, consulting, government, human services, management, retail, sales, and other fields without a scientific or technical focus will be featured.

Based on feedback from numerous employers and departments here at the University of Florida, this new distinction will lend to a more structured event that allows students to target their key employment interests more efficiently.

The Spring 2005 Career Showcase will take place in the O’Connell Center from 9:00-3:00 p.m. on February 1 and 2, 2005. Employers will be seeking candidates for internships, co-ops, and full-time positions on both days.

Thank you in advance for helping communicate these changes to students and making a smooth transition to this new format. Many details about the event and resources to help students are available at http://www.crc.ufl.edu/showcase. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Career Resource Center.
