It is time once again to recruit instructors for First-Year Florida for the 2005-2006 academic year. We hope you will consider applying to teach a FYF section summer B 2005, fall 2005, or spring 2006. For more information about the First- Year Florida program and this teaching opportunity (including the application) please visit www.dso.ufl.edu/nsp/firstyearexperience. The deadline to apply has been extended to Tuesday, April 12, 2005.

If you have colleagues who may be interested, please forward this information to them. Instructors are required to have a desire to impact the lives of new students and adequate time in their schedules to devote to the program. Time considerations include, but are not limited to: class (one hour per week), class preparation & meetings with Peer Leader, training sessions, and out-of-class activities.

Instructors will be paired with an undergraduate Peer Leader (selection for the Peer Leaders is well underway) and provided with a sample syllabus and on-line resources to personalize their class.

Although instructors cannot be paid, those who teach will be compensated with a $500 professional development allowance from the Office of the Provost.
