The University of Florida is pleased to announce a partnership with Flexcar to bring car-sharing to campus. Flexcar is a car-sharing company that offers members convenient access to their fleet of modern, low-emission vehicles by the hour. This service will offer a low-cost alternative to maintaining a car and a parking space on campus.

Students, faculty, and staff can use Flexcar for official business or personal trips after becoming a member. Flexcar members just pay one simple hourly (or daily) rate that includes gas, insurance, maintenance, a reserved parking space, 150 free miles per trip, roadside assistance and 24-hour customer service. Flexcar service introductory rates are $5.50 an hour or $55 a day. This represents a significant savings over Flexcar’s standard rate of $10/hour. In Florida, there is also a $2 charge per trip mandated by the state.

There are membership plans for students over 21, students 18-21, faculty and staff, and Departments. Additional information and membership applications are available online at www.flexcar.com or at www.ppd.ufl.edu.
