Kyle Cavanaugh, Senior Vice President for Administration

Because leadership development is essential to the effective management of a university, Human Resource Services has launched two new leadership programs: The UF Academy and Next Level Leadership. Specifically customized for UF faculty and exempt staff, these programs will help us to develop and retain both existing and future leaders for the university.

As you know, UF currently faces an array of challenges. More than ever, it is essential that our leaders be trained to think strategically about ways to maximize their teams’ potential. Each of these programs represents an invaluable opportunity for professional development, including exposure to UF’s highest levels of administration, at minimal cost and without any travel required for participants who work in Gainesville.

An e-mail message will be sent to employees next week to encourage applications; our application deadline is September 7. Details on these new programs, as well as the application form and process, may currently be found online at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/training/leadership/.

Please join me in encouraging your area’s current and potential leaders to submit an application. These are terrific new opportunities to provide development for our rising stars.

Thanks, again, for your support.
