J. Bernard Machen, President

It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Matt Fajack as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The newly established position of CFO will provide strategic leadership, analysis, planning and recommendations related to the university’s fiscal assets and appointments. He will operate as a key partner with me along with our Vice Presidents and Deans, members of the University’s Board of Trustees, and the financial affairs of our direct service organizations.

Matt comes to us from Kent State University, where he served as Executive Director in Financial Affairs. Prior to his role at Kent State, Matt served as CFO for the Beta Capital Group in Dallas Texas for 14 years. He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota and is licensed as a CPA. The CFO will report directly to the Senior Vice President for Administration. Matt is scheduled to start January 1, 2008.

I would also like to express my appreciation to Dean Steve Dorman and members of the search committee for all of their hard work on this search.
