New Faculty Orientation

It is time to begin planning for our New Faculty Orientation to be held on August 18, 2009. This year’s orientation is a one day program that will inform new faculty of the many services and resources available to them on campus. We are requesting information on your new faculty appointees for Orientation. Your college/departmental responses are imperative to the success of our program and are much appreciated.

Request for Data on New Faculty

This year we are changing the data submission process to make our things go more smoothly. This year, the submissions will be done electronically. Please fill out the attached New Appointee Information Form with the requested information on your new faculty appointees and submit it electronically to Faculty Development at facdev@aa.ufl.edu by Monday, July 13, 2009. New appointees, for the purpose of the fall 2009 New Faculty Orientation, are those persons new to the university this year and/or appointed after the last fall New Faculty Orientation that was held August 18-20, 2008.

The information we receive from you will be used to invite new appointees to Orientation and to disseminate information about various university programs developed specifically for them. We rely on academic units to provide accurate information because our official personnel list of the new appointees will not be available in time for Orientation.

Unit Coordinators/Participants

Each college should also fill out and submit the Coordinator Contact Form by Monday, July 13, 2009. This form requests designation of a contact person from your college for the purpose of Orientation correspondence. The form can be found here: http://www.aa.ufl.edu/aa/facdev/documents/CC.pdf

Finally, if your unit/college would like to participate in the Information Fair, please submit a contact name on the Coordinator Contact Form.

Submitting a name does NOT guarantee a spot in the Information Fair. Please alert your contact person to anticipate future correspondence regarding scheduling a table for the Fair.
