Elias Eldayrie, Vice President and Chief Information Officer

It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of David Gruber as the Senior Director of the newly formed Enterprise University Systems organization effective immediately. This Director Position is critical to serving our university technology needs and to the implementation of the Information Technology Action Plan (ITAP).

Dave, a Gator alumnus, first worked with the University of Florida in the early 1990s helping to push multimedia into the classroom. Then, after an eight year stint of owning and pioneering web-based project management services in the commercial construction industry, Dave rejoined the UF staff in 2003 focusing on the enterprise systems implementation.

Mr. Gruber has spent the past seven years in various roles at UF Bridges helping to mature systems and improve service to our faculty, students and staff. Most recently, in his role as interim director, Dave has been focused on the myUFL Financials Upgrade and improving internal efficiencies.

In this role, Mr. Gruber will provide leadership and coordination for the development of enterprise systems at UF as well as their operation.
The Enterprise University Systems organization will encompass the formerly called UF Bridges and the Student Information Systems units. Mr. Gruber will oversee the consolidation of those units and will report directly to me.

Please help me congratulate and support Dave in his new role. I am confident that he will make UF proud!
