I am pleased to announce the University has entered into a new agreement with Specialty Underwriters (SU) for equipment maintenance.

By utilizing this new contract University departments can expect:

  • The option of selecting the original equipment maintenance (OEM) service provider or to access SU’s extensive provider network
  • Savings on yearly fixed costs for repairs of 15 to 30% on average against OEM quotes
  • Dedicated program management and account representatives
  • On-line tracking and reminders for Preventative Maintenance (PM) sent directly to your department

Specialty Underwriters has had success with large research institutions managing equipment maintenance and protecting, laboratory, medical, computer, communication, security and office automation equipment. With Specialty’s superior customer service and on-line tools, this partnership can save both time and money for your unit and the University.

Beginning in May 2011, representatives from Specialty Underwriters will be on campus holding meetings and visiting departments to explain the program and to identify potential equipment that could be added to the program. SU will be happy to provide a no-charge analysis on the cost effectiveness of service/repair alternatives and provide a quote for covering your equipment.

Please note that as of June 1st if you enter a requisition of $5000 or more to an OEM vendor, the requisition must also include a quote from Specialty Underwriters.
