Establishment of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
Joe Glover, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
I am pleased to announce the establishment of the University of Florida Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will be housed in the Office of the Provost and will be headed by Ms. Kim Pace, who will serve as director of the office.
As director, Ms. Pace will establish an Office of Postdoctoral Affairs Web site that will serve as a resource and information clearinghouse for postdoctoral associates at the University of Florida. She will establish a visiting scholars seminar series to provide the postdoctoral community with information and resources beyond that provided through individual departments and colleges. The director will establish an orientation program for new postdoctoral associates and will develop a communication network for delivering information to the postdoctoral community. Additionally, Ms. Pace will coordinate and consolidate information and data on postdoctoral associates so it may be made more readily available to the campus community. The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs will be advised by a Postdoctoral Advisory Committee comprised of faculty and postdoctoral associates.
Ms. Pace obtained her bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco. She started at the University of Florida in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office in 1989. She has worked in the Office of the Provost since 2001 and has served as Assistant Provost since 2010.
