After a national search, I am pleased to announce that Richard D. Wilder has been selected as Director of Student Financial Affairs effective June 1, 2012. In this new role Rick will oversee the administration of all financial aid programs exceeding $500 million to over 46,000 students.

Rick has served as Interim Director of Student Financial Affairs for the last year and successfully guided the office through significant changes in student aid at the state and federal levels. He has been a member of the Student Financial Affairs staff for the last 32 years rising through the ranks from financial aid counselor to senior associate director. Additionally, he has been an active member of several financial aid focused professional organizations taking on such leadership roles as President of FASFAA, Standards of Excellence Review Team of NASFAA and Executive Board member of SASFAA. Rick began his career at UF as an accounting clerk in IFAS. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Georgia Southern University.
