Call for Nominations, FY2014-15 UFAA Board of Directors

The University of Florida Alumni Association (UFAA) is enhancing its role as a vital resource for the University of Florida, the UF Foundation and the Gator that lives in all of us.   To that end, we are currently seeking nominations of driven, successful individuals who can represent their fellow Gators as we strive to provide relevant, high quality services that support, engage, and educate the Gator Nation.

To fill the expected vacancies for the Fiscal Year 2014-2015 Board of Directors, our Nominating Committee will consider and evaluate each candidate to select individuals who will be considered by the full Board at the spring meeting on February 22, 2014; newly elected directors will take their positions on July 1, 2014.

The UFAA Board of Directors is the volunteer entity that serves the University’s mission of teaching, research, and service by fostering and enhancing the relationship between the University and its alumni, students and friends.  The Board is integral to the success of the UF Alumni Association and the execution of its strategic plan to “Be the Best.”

When nominating Board candidates, please consider an individual who can:

• Advocate for and promote the University of Florida;
• Utilize personal expertise to advance the goals of the University of Florida Alumni Association; and
• Commit to participate in scheduled meetings of the Board and events.

Due to the amount of highly qualified nominations received last year, the Nominating Committee will now retain nominations for a 2-year period.  Accordingly, all nominees that were not appointed last year will be considered for the 2014-2015 Board of Directors.

As a reminder, under the Sunshine laws, UFAA Board members may not discuss nominees or potential nominees with another Board member except at a duly-noticed meeting.  If you have any questions, please contact Suzanne Norris, Nominating Committee Chair, via email at suzanne.norris@td.com.  Again, please keep in mind you may not discuss any nominee or potential nominee in your correspondence.
