I am pleased to announce that David E. Richardson has agreed to serve as Interim Dean for the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, beginning June 20, 2014.  Dr. Richardson will assume the duties and responsibilities of Dean Paul D’Anieri who will depart UF for the University of California Riverside.

Dr. Richardson is currently Senior Associate Dean in CLAS and Professor of Chemistry.  He joined the UF Department of Chemistry in 1983 as an Assistant Professor and has served in the CLAS College Office since 2007.

Dr. Richardson received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University in 1981. The former chair of the UF Department of Chemistry (2000-2006), he is a physical inorganic chemist whose work focuses on the study of kinetics and mechanism of chemical reactions.
