I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David W. Parrott as Vice President for Student Affairs, effective June 1, 2016.  Dr. Parrott comes to UF from Texas A&M University, where he has been Executive Associate Vice President and Chief of Staff in the Division of Student Affairs from 2008 to the present.  Prior to that position, he held several positions in the Texas A&M Division of Student Affairs, including Interim Vice President, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Student Life, and Dean of Student Life.  Before joining Texas A&M in 2001, he held positions in Student Affairs at Western Michigan University and Western Kentucky University.

Dr. Parrott has been a member of the Graduate Faculty at Texas A&M since 2006.  He holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Louisville, and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Western Kentucky University.  He will have an academic appointment at UF as a Clinical Associate Professor in the College of Education.

Dr. Parrott is married to Dr. Kelli Peck Parrott and has two sons: Jackson, 11, and Jason, 9.  Please join me in welcoming David and his family to UF.
