Appointment of Dr. Irene Cooke as Acting Executive Director of Animal Care Services

The Office of Research recently convened a task force to look holistically at the university’s processes, procedures, and policies in place for animal research in order to identify opportunities to improve how our systems and infrastructure facilitate animal research on campus. Based on the results and recommendations of the task force, the Office of Research has elected to implement several changes to key relevant units. In particular, we have created a position of Executive Director for Animal Care Services (ACS). I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Irene Cooke as Assistant Vice President and Acting Executive Director of ACS effective July 10, 2017. Dr. Cooke joined UF in 2012 as Assistant Vice President and Director of Research Compliance in the Office of Research. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Cooke to this new position
