Student Affairs Organization and Personnel Announcements
David W. Parrott, Vice President for Student Affairs
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Myra F. Morgan as Interim Executive Director of the J. Wayne Reitz Union, effective July 14. Myra has been a critical member of Student Affairs for more than 30 years, serving a former term as the Interim Director of the Reitz Union and most recently overseeing engagement, partnerships, and fundraising efforts. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise will ensure continuity of operations for one of our most important student facilities.
Jaime Gresley has been promoted to Myra’s former role as Director of Engagement and External Relations.
The search for a Dean of Students is a critical priority. We’ve hired the search firm Spelman Johnson to conduct a national search beginning in August. My hope is to have the position of Associate Vice President/Dean of Students filled by January 2018.
Effective July 1, Heather White has graciously accepted the role of Interim Dean of Students. As a sitting department director of the Career Resource Center, Heather brings to the position years of experience and an excellent rapport with academic units across campus.
Senior Associate Director for Career Services Ja’Net Glover will serve as Interim Director of the Career Resource Center.
Leslie Pendleton has been promoted to Executive Director of Retention and Student Success Initiatives. The Disability Resource Center now will report to her. She will represent Student Affairs in campus-wide conversations regarding retention and graduation rates. I’m confident her success within the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program will translate positively in support of these university goals.
Please join me in supporting our staff members in their new roles.
