Appointment of Amy Hass as Interim Vice President and General Counsel

I am pleased to announce that Amy Hass has agreed to serve as Interim Vice President and General Counsel for the University of Florida. Ms. Hass previously served as UF’s Associate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.

Prior to joining UF’s Office of the Vice President and General Counsel in 2006, Ms. Hass was a litigator with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP in Atlanta and New York. While in private practice, she represented financial services companies and individuals in a wide range of government enforcement proceedings, civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, arbitrations and internal corporate investigations. She also advised clients on general corporate ethics, procedure and compliance.

Amy graduated with honors from the UF Levin College of Law and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Furman University. She is a member of The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia and is admitted to practice in all state courts in Florida and Georgia. Amy is also admitted to practice in the Northern and Southern U.S. District Courts of Florida and the Northern U.S. District Court of Georgia. Amy is a member of the Florida Bar’s Education Law Committee and serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of College and University Law.
