UFDocuSign available to UF faculty and staff beginning this month
Jodi D. Gentry, Vice President for UF Human Resources
Charles E. Lane, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Michael V. McKee, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Beginning Monday, April 16, UFDocuSign—an electronic signature service that lets users securely sign and initial electronic documents instead of paper copies—will be available to all UF faculty and staff for free. Faculty and staff are encouraged to use the service for official university business requiring signatures in order to save time, money and the frustration of waiting on documents.
In addition to e-signing documents, faculty and staff will be able to send electronic documents out for signature, to one person or many people, and easily see the status of the documents they send.
Once available, you will be able to use UFDocuSign by going to https://www.docusign.com/ and logging in with your GatorLink credentials at the usual UF web login page. Anyone who would like to send documents for UF business-related purposes using UFDocuSign or create UFDocuSign templates must complete a short training, which is available on the recently launched UFDocuSign website under Security Roles. The website also provides information on how to use UFDocuSign, FAQs, best practices and team contacts.
Tips for combatting phishing
As with all online activity, please be aware of phishing attempts that may appear to come from UFDocuSign. Be sure to hover over the link in any UFDocuSign emails and verify it contains “docusign.net/” and begins with https. It’s your account and your responsibility, so please don’t open any UFDocuSign document unless you are expecting to receive it and know how to combat phishing.
Two-factor authentication
UFDocuSign authors and senders are encouraged to use two-factor authentication to improve user account security.
UFDocuSign is a collaboration between UFIT, the Office of the CFO and UF Human Resources, with support from the Office of the Chief Operating Officer. Questions about the service? Email UF-DocuSign@ufl.edu.
