Ceremonies: This summer, the university-wide commencement
ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
There
will be two university-wide commencement ceremonies — a Doctoral
Degree Ceremony (Friday, August 9th at 4:00pm) and a Master’s/Specialist’s/Bachelor’s
Degrees Ceremony (Saturday, August 10th at 10:00am).
Ordering Regalia: Regalia orders will be accepted through June 28, 2019. Information on ordering regalia is available from the UF Bookstore (392-0194). After serving for six years as Director, Dr. Pat Concannon will be stepping down as Director of the UF Genetics Institute. Under Dr. Concannon’s leadership, the Genetics Institute has seen remarkable growth within its interdisciplinary research and educational missions.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Robert
Ferl as the Assistant Vice President for Research – Strategic Projects within the
Office of Research.
Since 2006, Dr. Ferl has served as the Director of ICBR,
a role that he will relinquish in assuming the position of assistant vice
president. Dr. Ferl received his PhD in Biology and Genetics from Indiana

I am pleased to announce that Dr.
Anna-Lisa Paul, Research Professor in the UF/IFAS Department of Horticulture
Sciences, has been appointed as Interim Director of ICBR. She assumes this role due to the recent
promotion of Dr. Robert Ferl to another position. Dr. Paul received her Ph.D.
in Molecular Genetics /Epigenetics from the University of Florida in 1989. Her research interests focus on the regulation
of plant gene expression in response to abiotic stress and extreme
