Dr. David P. Norton, Vice President for Research

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Anna-Lisa Paul, Research Professor in the UF/IFAS Department of Horticulture Sciences, has been appointed as Interim Director of ICBR.  She assumes this role due to the recent promotion of Dr. Robert Ferl to another position. Dr. Paul received her Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics /Epigenetics from the University of Florida in 1989.  Her research interests focus on the regulation of plant gene expression in response to abiotic stress and extreme environments, with a particular interest in chromatin structure, genome organization, and epigenetic change. Dr. Paul has over 80 refereed journal publications and has received over $5M in extramural research funding over the past 10 years.  Her recognition in the field of plant space biology includes the award for most compelling science on the International Space Station, and the President’s Award from the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Anna-Lisa Paul in her new position which begins June 3, 2019.
