Leonardo Villalón, Dean of the International Center and Associate Provost

David Reed, Associate Provost for Strategic Initiatives

The International Center is very pleased to announce that Fulbright Awareness Week 2022 will be celebrated from 23-30 March this year. Multiple information sessions for scholars, faculty, staff, and students will provide opportunities to learn about Fulbright, the application process, and to hear about the experiences of past Fulbright scholars and students. These events are organized in collaboration with the UF Fulbright Lectures Committee, UF Honors, the Graduate School, College of Arts, UF IFAS, College of Education, Levin College of Law, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Nursing, and the North Florida Fulbright Alumni Association.

This year we are very pleased to celebrate UF’s return to the list of  Fulbright Top Producing Institutions, tied for 4th place.  And signaling the university’s commitment to supporting faculty distinction and professional development through these prestigious awards, we are particularly delighted to announce the new Faculty Fulbright Support Program from the Provost’s Office. This initiative is designed to facilitate Fulbright opportunities for UF faculty, making them eligible to maintain full UF benefits and salary in addition to their Fulbright funding. More details on the program are available at http://aa.ufl.edu/awards/faculty-fulbright-support/

Given the challenges the world has faced in recent years, the Fulbright mission of promoting international cooperation and exchange is clearly more relevant than ever, and the International Center and the office of the Provost are very pleased to be able to support faculty and staff interested in undertaking international engagement through the Fulbright program.

Aferdita Krasniqi, Education Outreach & Recruitment  Specialist for the Fulbright Scholar Program at the Institute of International Education (IIE) in Washington, D.C., will participate in this year’s information sessions for faculty and staff interested in applying for the

Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.  Ms. Krasniqi will also be available for individual consultations with interested applicants. To schedule an individual consultation, please email: canumba@ufic.ufl.edu.
